Petr Cech has explained the reasons behind his decision to wear the number 33 jersey at Arsenal.
The Czech keeper – who joined from London rivals Chelsea this summer – took to Twitter to clarify his reasons behind the choice, with David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny also competing for the No1 spot at the Emirates.

It is of course Cech’s age and the Czech Republic custodian also joins Arsenal having played 333 Premier League games for Chelsea.
In a subsequent Tweet, Cech also came out with another reason to wear number 33 and Gooners everywhere will no doubt love his ambition to be part of Arsenal’s spine in the coming seasons.

Cech is expected to make his Arsenal debut this coming Wednesday in Arsenal’s first game of pre-season against a Singapore Selection XI.
His first game for Arsenal on English soil will be in the Community Shield against former club Chelsea.
