Legendary former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was seen embracing exit-bound manager Louis van Gaal as the team jubilantly celebrated in their dressing room at Wembley following Saturday’s FA Cup final victory.
Nearly the entire squad were signing and dancing in the post-match celebrations after they beat Crystal Palace 2-1 thanks to goals from Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard.
A small conga line also breaks out while Ferguson congratulated Van Gaal on the win and bringing the famous trophy back to Old Trafford amid widespread reports claiming Jose Mourinho will be confirmed as his replacement by Tuesday this week.
This is the first piece of silverware that the Red Devils have won since Ferguson retired in 2013 and the first time they have won the FA Cup since 2004.
Crystal Palace were leading with only 12 minutes remaining after substitute Jason Puncheon fired the Eagles in front but Mata equalised just moments later to send the game to extra-time.
Man Utd centre-back Chris Smalling did pick up a second yellow card on 105 minutes but it did not prove too costly as Lingard scored a superb goal only five minutes afterwards to seal it for his club.
This is likely to have been Van Gaal’s final game in charge of Man Utd, with former Chelsea manager Mourinho understood to be confirmed as the team’s new manager early next week.
